Maternal Health Research Collaborative for Minority-Serving Institutions (MH-RC-MSI) Research Centers

Builds the capacity of minority-serving institutions to conduct quantitative and qualitative research on the root causes of disparities in maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity, and to develop community-based solutions. Recipients must engage communities throughout, train early-career researchers, publish, and submit at least one external grant proposal for sustainability.

- Public or non-profit institutions of higher learning and public or private non-profit agencies engaged in research or programmes relating to maternal and child health (42 CFR 51a.3(b)). MSIs including HBCUs, Tribal Colleges and Universities, and Hispanic-, AAPI- and Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian-serving institutions are especially encouraged; non-MSI applicants are expected to partner with an MSI. Non-profits must submit proof of status.
