Yidan Prize (Education Research and Education Development)

Yidan Prize Foundation

Two annual prizes — one for Education Research, recognising researchers whose work strengthens teaching and learning, and one for Education Development, recognising leaders advancing practice through innovative interventions. Each laureate receives a gold medal, a cash prize of HK$15 million (shared equally for teams) and a project fund of HK$15 million. The project-fund half is the reason this belongs in a research funding database: it is money to be spent extending the winning work, so it functions as a large unsolicited research and implementation grant rather than a purely honorific award.
