Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofits (or 509(a)1, 2 or 3 organizations), accredited schools and universities, units of government and public agencies, and federally recognized Indian Tribal entities — so a university can be the direct applicant here. Work must be located in Idaho, Oregon, Utah or Washington, or on Indian Lands within those states. Indirect costs are capped at 10 percent per grant and organizations may submit only one application.
