NIH Pathway to Independence Award (Parent K99/R00, Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed), PA-24-194
Two-phase award: one to two years of mentored postdoctoral support (K99) followed by up to three years of independent support (R00) that activates on securing a tenure-track or equivalent faculty position.

- Eligibility
- No citizenship requirement: US citizens, permanent residents and non-citizens with appropriate visa status may apply. Requires a clinical or research doctorate (PhD, MD, DO, DC, ND, DDS, DMD, DVM, ScD, DNS, PharmD or equivalent) and no more than 4 years of postdoctoral research experience at the application due date, with extensions available for childbirth and certain leave. The R00 phase must be held at an extramural research institution.
