A phased award for mechanistic trials asking HOW mind and body interventions — mindfulness meditation, yoga, acupuncture, massage and other brain- or body-based practices — change emotional well-being, and how that in turn relates to whole person health. Eligibility
Higher education institutions, nonprofits with and without 501(c)(3) status, for-profits, small businesses, and federal, state, local and tribal governments may apply. Foreign organizations are NOT eligible. Applications without strong preliminary data are unlikely to be responsive — the NOFO states that preliminary data must be comparable in quality and quantity to that expected for an R01. Community organizations would ordinarily participate as intervention delivery partners under a university-held award.
