Society for the Scientific Study of Religion
Small seed grants for direct research expenses on the scientific study of religion, judged primarily on intellectual merit. Well suited to social work researchers studying religion's role in health, help-seeking, family life or community organisation. Funds are transferred to the principal investigator's institution and no indirect cost recovery is permitted.

- Applicant must hold a completed Ph.D. and be an active SSSR member (membership in the society is a hard gate). For co-authored proposals at least one author must hold both the Ph.D. and SSSR membership. Grants are normally paid to the PI's university unless alternative arrangements are negotiated in advance.
