U.S.-based organizations only: higher education institutions, nonprofits with and without 501(c)(3) status, for-profits, small businesses, state and local governments, tribal governments and faith-based organizations. Non-domestic (non-U.S.) entities are NOT eligible to apply, though foreign components of U.S. organizations and foreign collaborators are permitted. A clinical trial is required. A community agency can be the applicant if it meets NIH registration requirements, but the trial-design demands mean most applications are university-led with agency delivery partners.
