CURE Epilepsy runs two open competitions. The Taking Flight Award gives $125,000 over 18 months to launch an independent epilepsy research program. The Rare Epilepsy Partnership Award gives $100,000 over one year to build research tools, model systems and data collection platforms for rare epilepsies, which is the mechanism that can carry registry, patient-reported outcome and family-facing data infrastructure work. Both awards fund salary, supplies and conference travel to present funded work, but neither pays equipment or indirect costs. International applicants are welcome if materials are

Postdoctoral, Early-career faculty, Mid-career & senior
Eligibility
Taking Flight: postdoctoral fellows holding a PhD, PsyD or PharmD with at least two years of postdoctoral experience; instructors or research assistant professors without significant independent funding; assistant professors within one year of appointment; clinician-researchers within two years of a faculty appointment; or clinical fellows in neurology, neurosurgery or neurocritical care. Rare Epilepsy Partnership: open to established and early-career investigators, with early-career applicants required to name a committed mentor and supply a mentorship statement. No US citizenship requirement
